    LOWEST ANNUAL INFLATION IN CIS COUNTRIES RECORDED IN ARMENIA IN JAN 2008 - 6.6%

    YEREVAN, March 10. /ARKA/. The lowest level of annual inflation in
    CIS countries was recorded in Armenia in January 2008 - 6.6% against
    January 2007, says the report of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent
    Countries) Statistical Committee.

    According to the report, the January inflation against inflation level
    in December 2007 has been 2.4% in Armenia. Inflation was recorded in
    all CIS countries, says the report.

    In January 2008 the highest annual rise in consumer prices was recorded
    in Kyrgyzstan- 20% (with 1.9% inflation against December 2007),
    followed by Ukraine - 19.4% (2.9% against December), Kazakhstan - 18.7%
    (1.1%), Azerbaijan - 15.3% (2.5%), Moldova - 13.9% (1.5%), Belarus -
    12.9% (2.5%), Russia - 12.6% (2.3%) and Georgia - 10.7% (2.5%).

    For Tajikistan January inflation information is provided only against
    December 2007 - 1%.
