the occupied territories of Azerbaijan included in the agenda of the
General Assembly's 62nd session will be discussed on March 14.
Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to UN is providing a sustainable work
toward the adoption of this document and holding negotiations with
all UN members, Khazar Ibrahim, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry
told APA. A draft resolution underlined four resolutions of the UN
Security Council passed in 1993, OSCE fact-finding mission's report
on the situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and OSCE
Minsk Group's corresponding letter to the OSCE Permanent Council. It
is also underlined that the armed conflict in Nagorno Karabakh and
nearby regions was a serious threat to the international peace and
security, as well as humanitarian situation in the South Caucasus. A
draft resolution confirms respect and support for the territorial
integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan within its internationally
recognized borders and demands immediate, unconditional and full
withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied areas. It was
also said in the document, situation in the occupied territories of
Azerbaijan would be focused during next 63rd session as well.
