    AZERBAIJANI STATE COMMISSION CONFIRMS CAPTIVITY OF AZERBAIJANI SOLDIER BY ARMENIANS

    Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli-APA. "Azerbaijani soldier Yagub Allahverdi
    Mukhtarov was captured by Armenian Armed Forces," Shahin Sayilov,
    Secretary of State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and
    Missing Persons told APA that the commission had taken measures on
    the returning of captive to Azerbaijan.

    International Committee of the Red Cross Azerbaijan Representation's
    Press Service told APA that they had information about it. State
    Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons gave
    information to ICRC about the captivity of Azerbaijani soldier. It
    was stated that ICRC representatives would visit captive as usual
    and his detention condition would be monitored.

    "I cannot say about it concretely. I have not familiarized with the
    situation absolutely. We can say concrete opinion after investigation,"
    Eldar Sabiroglu, Spokesman for Defense Ministry told APA, while
    commenting on Armenian mass media's report about captivity of one
    more Azerbaijan soldier by Armenian Armed Forces on March 9, 2008.

    "Panarmenian" agency reported quoting Spokesperson for Armenian
    Defense Ministry Seyran Shahsuvaryan that 20, Sheki resident Yagub
    Allahverdi Mukhtarov, soldier of Azerbaijani Armed Forces was captured
    by Armenian Armed Forces in Tovuz direction.
