ELDAR SABIROGHLU: "IT IS NOT EXACTLY KNOWN HOW AZERBAIJANI SOLDIER HAS BEEN TAKEN BY ARMENIANS"

Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli-APA. Defense Ministry is investigating how
the soldier of Azerbaijani Army Mukhtarov Yagub Allahverdi has been
captured by Armenian armed forces, Spokesman for Defense Ministry
Eldar Sabiroghlu told APA. The spokesman said that the people would
be informed about concrete reason of the soldier's action.
"It is not exactly known how the soldier has been taken by Armenians.
That's why it is difficult to say anything. This was what I meant,
when I said "I have not fully acquainted myself with the situation".
Investigation is being carried out, the causes are being determined,"
he said.
Eldar Sabiroghlu said it was not right to target at the Defense
Ministry without knowing the essence.
"The statement made by Armenian Defense Ministry should be ground
neither for us, nor for mass media. They can exert pressure on
soldiers and get whatever they want. They had treated Samir Mammadov
similarly. That's why, the press should take this into consideration
while reporting an event," he said.
Armenian mass media first reported quoting the country's Defense
Ministry that soldier of Azerbaijani Army, Mukhtarov Yagub Allahverdi,
20, had been captured in Tovuz Region.
Azerbaijan's State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing
Persons and office of the International Committee of the Red Cross
(ICRC) in Azerbaijan confirmed the report.
