ARMENIAN EVENTS WON'T AFFECT TIES WITH NATO

Yerevan, 12 March: Armenia has assured NATO that regardless of the
recent events in the country, the implementationof defence reforms
will continue without any obstacles.
Members of the Armenian delegation stated about this at a meeting
with the NATO secretary general's specialrepresentative for the South
Caucasus and Central Asia, Robert Simmons, the press service of the
Armenian ForeignMinistry told Mediamax news agency.
Armenia's progress report on the Planning and Review Process (PARP)
of the Partnership for Peace programme andnew Partnership Goals was
discussed at a session of NATO's Political-Military Steering Committee
on 10 March inBrussels.
Simmons was briefed on the legal and other basis for the moves taken
by the Armenian authorities. The NATO secretary general's special
representative voiced hope that the situation will stabilize as soon
as possible and stated aboutthe alliance's readiness to develop and
expand ties with Armenia.
