YEREVAN, MARCH 14, ARMENPRESS: Two ethnic Armenian members of Iranian
parliament are seeking reelection to new parliament in today's
national polls.
One is Gevork Vardan who represents Armenians of Tehran and northern
Iran and the second is Robert Beglarian who represents Armenians of
Isfahan and southern Iran.
The Tehran-based Armenian language newspaper Alik said Armenian
organizations of Iran called on Iranian Armenians to actively
participate in the election since 'high voter turnout is important
for Armenian lawmakers' future activity.
The Armenian community of Iran is allowed to have two representatives
in the country's parliament.
