HIS HOLINESS ARAM I EXPRESSES HIS CONDOLENCES
FOR THE PASSING AWAY OF TWO PROMINENT ECUMENICAL FIGURES
The ecumenical community lost two prominent members recently.
The first of them, Dr. Lukas Visher, served as the director of the World
Council of Churches' "Faith and Order" Commission for several years; he
played an important role in the theological dialogue between the two
families of Orthodox Churches and has authored many books.
The second, Sister Shiyara Lubik was the long-serving president of the
Catholic Church's "Fokolare" movement. She actively participated in
ecumenical initiatives.
On these sad occasions, His Holiness Aram I sent condolence letters to the
