29 ILLEGAL TREE FELLING CASES REGISTERED IN YEREVAN IN 2007

YEREVAN, MARCH 17, NOYAN TAPAN. 29 cases of illegal tree felling were
registered in Yerevan in 2007, in connection with which reports were
drawn up and sent to the RA ministry of environmental protection. The
head of the environmental protection department of Yerevan mayor's
office Avet Martirosian said at the March 17 press conference that
not all the participants of the registered cases were revealed, while
those revealed were fined in the amount of 150-300 thousand drams
(about 490-968 USD).
It was announced that 5 criminal cases were opened in connection with
illegal felling.
