VASILY ISTRATOV: THE TEXT OF THE RESOLUTION PRESENTED TO THE UN WAS UNBALANCED

Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasily Istratov declared that
the decision of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to vote against the
resolution against Nagorno Karabakh because the "text of the document
is non-balanced."
He said the three Co-Chairs of the Minsk group made a decision to
vote against the resolution presented to the UN General Assembly.
"The co-chairs consider that the text of the draft resolution is not
balanced. They state that some moments are absent in the text".
The Ambassador also added that the mediator-countries have repeatedly
asked to balance the text however Azerbaijan demanded to introduce the
document for discussion without amendments and alterations. Vasily
Istratov also commented on changing the composition of the OSCE
Minsk Group.
"The composition changing is a complicated process. I think the
Co-Chairs are active and they have confirmed their intention to assist
the countries in the settlement of this issue," he noted.
