"As a result of discussions in the UN, Azerbaijan has actually suffered
another defeat although it tries to prove to its public that it is a
moral victory. I think that an extraordinary event took place: although
the OSCE Minsk Group had warned that a one-sided document could not
be submitted to the UN, Azerbaijan did it. Thirty-nine countries
voted in favor of the draft, about 150 countries (including the main
countries of European Union) either voted against or abstained.
The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries also voted against. I think
Azerbaijan received a clear message that the methods of one-sided
pressure do not work, the foreign Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh
Republic Georgy Petrosyan said, commenting on the passage of the
resolution on Nagorno Karabakh at the UN General Assembly.
The Minister noted that Azerbaijan proved once again that it is
against a peaceful settlement and stands for the use of force to
resolve the problem.
