/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Russia supports the OSCE Minsk Group format which
meets the interests of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the international
community, Russian Deputy Foreign Minster, Secretary of State Grigory
Karasin said in Yerevan March 20.
The OSCE Minsk Group has proved its efficiency in the Nagorno Karabakh
conflict settlement and there is no need to change anything, according
to him.
"We are hopeful that the talks will continue in the same format and
that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan will meet soon," he said,
adding, "The negotiations have already produced effect and the sides
should value the achievements."
Mr Karasin reminded that the OSCE MG unanimously and strictly opposed
the Azerbaijani resolution on Karabakh.
"Any change of format will lead to uncertainty in delicate issues. It's
inappropriate," he said.
Asked whether the process may reach a deadlock after the Bucharest
meeting, Mr Karasin said he is optimistic. "The Armenian and
Azerbaijani leadership has the potential to achieve good results,"
he said, IA Regnum reports.
