DISMISSED EMPLOYEES OF RA MFA FILE LAWSUIT TO ADMINISTRATIVE COURT

YEREVAN, MARCH 25, NOYAN TAPAN. Four former employees of the RA
Ministry of Foreign Affairs have filed a lawsuit to the Administrative
Court with the request to be restored at their jobs and receive
compenstion for being forcedly out of work. According to "Aravot"
daily, the former spokesman for the MFA Valdimir Karapetian, former
heads of various units of the ministry: Malta Aivazian, Karine Afrikian
and Arakel Semirjian (Levon Ter-Petrosian's nephew) filed a lawsuit
against the RA MFA on March 24.
To recap, earlier these persons made a statement about their joining
the movement led by the first Armenian president L. Ter-Petrosian,
as a result of which they were dismissed from their jobs by the
minister's order. The foreign minister Vartan Oskanian had stated
that under the law on diplomatic service, employees of the foreign
ministry have no right to be involved in politics.
