ACCORDING TO SOME INFORMATION, DEPUTY DEFENCE MINISTER MANVEL GRIGORIAN WILL BE DISMISSED

YEREVAN, MARCH 25, NOYAN TAPAN. According to some information,
Lieutenant-General Manvel Grigorian, the RA Deputy Defence Minister,
will be dismissed one of these days. As Noyan Tapan correspondent
was informed by Seyran Shahsuvarian, the RA Defence Ministry's
Spokesperson, the Deputy Minister is on leave at the moment. The leave
will finish on April 1, after which, according to S. Shahsuvarian,
the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the RA Armed Forces, RA President
Robert Kocharian will decide the General's fate.
It should be mentioned that hero of Artsakh liberation struggle
Manvel Grigorian is also the Chairman of the Yerkrapah Volunteers'
Union. Though the General has not officially declared his support for
the first RA President Levon Ter-Petrosian, nevertheless many of the
Yerkrapah Volunteers' Union members are the supporters of the latter
and activists of the Hanrapetutiun (Republic) party supporting the
first President. It is also noteworthy that the General's nephew,
member of the NA RPA faction Hrant Grigorian was also among the
deputies, who had signed under the statement on supporting Levon
Ter-Petrosian.
