    AS OF MAY 6, 58 PEOPLE ARE UNDER PRELIMINARY ARREST IN CONNECTION WITH
    MARCH 1 EVENTS IN YEREVAN

    YEREVAN, MAY 6, NOYAN TAPAN. As of May 6, 58 people are under
    preliminary arrest within the framework of the criminal case on the
    March 1 events in Yerevan examined by the RA Special Investigation
    Service, and another preventive punishment has been chosen to another
    28 defendants. As Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed by Sona
    Truzian, the Spokesperson of the RA Prosecutor General, on May 5 David
    Aghayan was arrested with the suspicion of using violence to a power
    representative not dangerous for his life and health.

    As of May 6, 37 criminal cases on 38 people have been sent to the court
    by the RA Special Investigation Service, another 9 criminal cases on 9
    people have been sent to the court by the RA National Security Service
    (in total 46 cases on 47 people).

    According to the same source, preliminary examination on the part of
    Albert Nersisian, Gevorg Ghazarian, Vahagn Hareyan, Roman Mnatsakanian
    has been finished within the framework of the above mentioned case and
    sent to courts.

    A. Nersisian is accused by part 4, Article 225, RA Criminal Code,
    active disobedience to legal demands of a power representative during
    mass disorders, making appeals of using violence, arrest has been
    chosen as a preventive punishment to him, the case has been sent to the
    general jurisdiction court of Yerevan's Kentron and Nork-Marash
    communities.

    R. Mnatsakanian is accused by part 2, Article 225, RA Criminal Code,
    taking an immediate part in mass disorders, arrest has been chosen as a
    preventive punishment to him, the case has been sent to Yerevan
    Criminal Court. The criminal case against G. Ghazarian and V. Hareyan
    has been also sent to the same court. G. Ghazarian is accused by part
    1, Article 225, RA Criminal Court, organization of mass disorders, and
    A. Hareyan by part 1, Article 38-225, RA Criminal Code, involvement in
    organization of mass disorders. Arrest has been chosen as a preventive
    punishment to G. Ghazarian and a signature on not leaving the country
    to V. Hareyan.

    The part regarding Sos Gevorgian has been separated into an individual
    examination from the above mentioned criminal case examined by the RA
    Special Investigation Service and has been sent to the Investigation
    Department of the RA National Security Service, where the preliminary
    examination on its part has finished. S. Gevorgian is accused by part
    1, Article 235, RA Criminal Code, keeping illegal arms and ammunition.
    Arrest has been chosen as a preventive punishment to S. Gevorgian, the
    case has been sent to the general jurisdiction court of the Kotayk
    region.
