LATVIA'S AMBASSADOR COMPLETING HIS MISSION IN OUR COUNTRY

On May 20 Speaker of RA National Assembly Tigran Torosyan received
the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Armenia Ayvas Vovers on
the occasion of completion of his mission in our country.
The Armenian Parliament Speaker thanked the Ambassador for the
long fruitful work and his contribution to the development of
Armenian-Latvian relations and wished him success in his future
activity. Noting that the relations between the two countries deepened
during his tenure in office, the parliamentary collaboration and
cooperation within international organizations, Mr. Torosyan expressed
confidence that there are great opportunities and perspectives for the
development of relations. The Parliament Speaker noted that European
integration is one of the priorities for Armenia's foreign policy,
stressing the importance of the Latvian experience in this regard.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia, Ayvas Vovers thanked the
Mr. Torosyan for productive cooperation, noting that during the 6-7
years of his tenure in office Armenia has registered considerable
success in different spheres. The Ambassador attaches importance to
the latest report of the European Commission on Armenia, which is the
most positive as compared to those on Azerbaijan and Georgia. Highly
appreciating the current high level of bilateral relations and
registering the achievements, Mr. Vovers expressed confidence that
there is great potential for cooperation, especially in the spheres
of trade and economy.
Other issues of bilateral interest were discussed during the meeting.
