Armenia FM arrives in Russia to confirm continuous bilateral ties

MOSCOW, May 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Armenian Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandyan arrived in Russia to confirm the continuity of bilateral
relations. He has made a statement in his lecture at the Moscow State
Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) in Moscow on Friday.
`Russia is the major strategic partner for Armenia. My visit aims at
confirming the continuity of our relations, forging and developing
them,' Nalbandyan said.
`During the visit new Russian-Armenian projects will be discussed. Now
Russia's investments in Armenian economy reach one billion dollars,'
the minister said. `We share a common cultural and human space, 2.5
million Armenians live in Russia,' he added.
For his part, MGIMO rector Anatoly Torkunov noted, `For Russia
relations with Armenia play an important role.' `We have the potential
for cooperation, we can achieve tangible results thanks to this,' he
said. `MGIMO cooperates actively with the Russian-Armenian (Slavic)
State University in Yerevan, the universities exchange professors and
students and implement joint scientific projects,' the minister said.
