AMERICAN JEWS AND THE PRESIDENT
President of Armenia Serge Sarkisian met with the representatives of
the Jewish Committee of America, Ambassador Peter Rosenblat, head of
the Committee's strategic research center Berry Jatobs, and head of
American-Armenian Special Committee Ross Vatian.
The Presidential press office reports that Mr. Sarkisian emphasized
the importance of Armenia-USA relations in sense of economy
development, democracy and regional stability.
Ambassador Rosenblat said that the Jewish Committee of America, being
one of the most important organizations of the Jewish community, is
fully evolved in the international relations and international
issues. He said that the Committee has been interested in the events
in South Caucasus since 1990 and is well informed about the situation
in the region.
The sides discussed also a number of issues of the Armenian-Turkey
relations, particularly the question of opening the border between the
two states. The sides exchanged ideas about Armenia-Israel dialogue.
