YEREVAN, OCTOBER 31, NOYAN TAPAN. The ARF cannot put any precondition,
which may endanger the security of Artsakh or cast a shadow on
Armenia's achievements in the Armenian Genocide recognition process, to
form the basis of the Karabakh conflict settlement and the improvement
of Armenian-Turkish relations. The member of the National Assembly
"ARF" faction Ruzan Arakelian stated this at the October 31 debate
with the NA "Heritage" faction's member Zaruhi Postanjian. In her
words, the issue of returing the liberated territories is exaggerated
and does not correspond to reality: "it has not been yet put on the
negotiation table, even Azerbaijan does not speak about it".
Z. Postanjian said that in connection with the solution of the
Karabakh problem, some high-ranking Armenian officials speak about
making compromises. Whereas, according to her, the authorities must
inform the society about the compromises at issue, as well as about
the minimum level of those compromises.
R. Arakelian expressed confidence that if the matter concern the
return of the territories, this issue will be discussed with society
without fail.
"One person may not make a definite decision without discussing it
with the public and political forces," she said.
