ARMENIA TO PAY 1.4 BILLION DRAMS FOR ITS MEMBERSHIP OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IN 2009

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, NOYAN TAPAN. The 2009 draft state budget of the
RA envisages payments of 1.4 billion drams for Armenia's membership
of international organizations. For this purpose 891 mln drams will
be allocated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 80.5 mln drams to
the RA National Assembly, 20.6 mln drams - the Council of the Public
TV Company, and 18.5 mln drams - to the State Social Security Service
of the Ministry of Labor and Social Issues. Besides, an additional
amount of 413 mln drams is envisaged for fulfilment of the obligations
to international financial organizations.
Out of the sum allocated to the MFA, 675 mln drams will be spent on
payment of the country's current liabilities, and 215 mln drams -
on payment of the debts accumulated in the previous years. The deputy
minister of finance Pavel Safarian said that this amount is sufficient
to pay off the debts to international organizations according to
the schedule.
