Armenia's economy minister says tourism can lead to regional development
YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. Tourism can improve living conditions and
productivity in Armenia's regions, RA Minister of Economy Nerses
Yeritsyan said in Yerevan during the opening of the eighth annual
international exhibition Country of Talking stones (CTS) under the
patronage of the RA Ministry of Economy.
Talking about achievements in tourism, the minister pointed out the
government program of actions in the sector.
According to Yeritsyan, the concept of tourism aims at attracting more
tourists to Armenia and making historic-cultural sites touristy.
`The government should support creative activities, as fresh and
original ideas attract tourist,' the minister concluded.
The organizers of CTS 2008 are the Armenian Union of Travel Agents and
the Armenian Representation of the American Society of Travel Agents.
The exhibition is part of the USAID/CAPS (United States Agency for
International Development/Competitive Armenian Private Sector). `0--
