Advocate Seda Safaryan has appealed the decision of Yerevan's Criminal
Court in the Court of Appeals. Remind that on October 23 the Criminal
Court announced a verdict of sentencing Mushegh Saghatelyan to five
years' imprisonment. Besides, Mushegh Saghatelyan was fined over
900.000 drams.
The ex director of the Penitentiary Department was charged by
Article 316 of the Criminal Code (Articles 1, 2 - violence against a
government representative) and Article 235 (Article 4 - acquisition,
transportation and realisation of illegal weapon).
During the Presidential election of February 19, 2008, Mushegh
Saghatelyan was Levon Ter-Petrosyan's proxy.
