President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the President of the
House of Representatives of Cyprus Marios Garoyan and his delegation.

The President attached importance to the visit of Mr. Garoyan to
Armenia as Chairman of the Parliament of brotherly Cyprus and as our
compatriot who achieved great success by occupying that high position.

Mr. Garoyan said he is very proud to visit Armenia - the country of his
predecessors. According to him, Cyprus wishes to expand the friendly
relations between the two countries and peoples. The President of the
House of Representatives expressed confidence that his visit will open
a new page in the parliamentary relations between the two countries.

Noting that Marios Garoyan is the most senior Armenian official outside
Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan said: "We in Armenia are really proud of your
success." According to the President, this once again speaks about the
important features of our people: spreading all over the world, they
assumed one principle - to get easily integrated into the society they
live in, become a full citizen of that country and remain an Armenian.

Serzh Sargsyan emphasized the high level of political relations
with Cyprus and the effective cooperation within international
organizations. He stressed that the two countries have a broad field
for cooperation within the20framework of the European Neighborhood
    Policy.

According to the parties, the visit of the President of Cyprus to
Armenia expected at the beginning of the next year will serve as a
serious impetus for further development of Armenia-Cyprus relations.
