ArmInfo. Armenian Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan disproved today
the information of several mass media that in August of the current
year Russia used its military bases in Armenia to implement battle
flights of Russian military planes to the territory of Georgia, -
Izvestia reported.
"This did not happen. Anti-aircraft defence of Armenia was attentively
controlling the air space of the republic and such information is
disproved", - Ohanyan said at the briefing in Tbilisi.
He also added that according to the Armenian-Russian arrangements
"the 202-nd Russian military base deployed in Armenia may be used
only along the external border of the former USSR and only after
coordination with the Armenian party".
