RA PRIME MINISTER TIGRAN SARGSYAN RECEIVED A DELEGATION FROM PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA SINCHUAN AUTONOMOUS REGION

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation from People's
Republic of China Sinchuan autonomous region which was led by Aiskhiji
Kremubai, head of the all-Chinese committee of people's political
advisory council. The delegation comprised deputy head of regional
government Xu Wei and other dignitaries and entrepreneurs who have
arrived in Armenia to discuss possibilities for mutually beneficial
cooperation with our country.
Prioritizing bilateral social-economic, cultural and other exchanges,
on behalf of the Armenian government, the Prime Minister expressed
readiness to discuss all possible areas of cooperation and the
possibilities for expanded interaction with the Chinese side. Tigran
Sargsyan noted that cooperation will help meet the challenges coming
from the global financial crisis.
The head of the 21 million-strong of Sinchuan autonomous region
administration briefed the Prime Minister on the current status and
future plans of his region's quickly evolving economy. He expressed
interest in the sphere of building materials production, energy,
industry, agriculture etc.
In this context, he mentioned that the bilateral ties can be
strengthened through reciprocated contacts and cited the recent visit
to China of a parliamentary delegation from Armenia which comprised
representatives of business circles. Aiskhiji Kremubai took the
opportunity to extend an invitation for participation in the annual
big trade fair of Sinchuan which may provide an excellent opportunity
for looking at advantageous projects, strike up new ties and start
new programs.
The head of the Armenian government thanked the guest for invitation
and assured that a delegation from Armenia is sure to attend the event.
The meeting was attended by Prosperous Armenia Party leader, MP Gagik
Tsarukyan and corresponding line ministers. The ministers were told
to hold a more in-depth discussion of interaction possibilities with
the Chinese delegation after this meeting.
