Photo exhibition on the prevention of child abuse jointly organized
by World Vision Armenia and the Children of Armenia Fund is to be
held in Gallery 1 on November 19, 2008.

The photographs taken by school-children from regions of Armenia
illustrate their own perceptions on vulnerability of children living
in Armenia. The photos are strong evidence of how fragile the security
of our children is and how much protection they need.

The event dedicated to the World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse
will welcome the Head of the Juvenile Department of the Police of RA,
Nelly Duryan, World Vision Armenia's National Director, Mark Kelly
and the Executive Director of Children of Armenia Fund, Ani Aleksanyan.

The exhibition serves to draw the attention of government and local
officials and public in general to the issues of children vulnerable
to maltreatment and raise awareness on preventing the cases of various
    forms of child abuse.

The opening part of the exhibition will be followed by a short animated
movie "The daughter" that features child abuse cases and underlines
the importance of early identification of such cases and relevant
support to the victims to overcome the consequences of the occurrence.

During the event World Vision Armenia will exhibit the photos of
children from Gyumri Photo Club as well as Talin=2 0and Sisian school
councils. The Children of Armenia Fund will present the photos of
children from Photo and Video Clubs operating in the communities of
Dalarik and Lernagog of Armavir Marz.

The exhibition will be preceded by a workshop facilitated by Zaven
Khachikyan, a well-known professional photographer, for participating
children to develop their skills on taking photos that touch sensitive
issues, and authentic depiction of feelings and emotions through
    photography.
