AUSTRALIA'S AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA

The newly appointed Ambassador of Australia to Armenia, Mrs. Margaret
Tumi (seat in Moscow) presented her credentials to the President of
Armenia, Mr. Serzh Sargsyan, President's Press Office reported.
The President congratulated the diplomat on assuming office and
expressed hope that new steps will be taken with her immediate
participation to make the bilateral ties more practical.
The perspectives of Armenian-Australian cooperation were discussed. The
interlocutors prioritized the familiarization with each other's
capabilities, reciprocal contacts and exchange of information, which
will allow shaping the attractive spheres of cooperation. They attached
importance to the formation of a contractual-legal field.
Serzh Sargsyan said the Australian Armenian community is a strong
link between the two countries. According to the Ambassador, having
preserved their national identity, they carry the rich cultural and
historical legacy of the Armenian people, simultaneously being fully
involved in the life of the country and bringing their contribution
to the development of the society.
The parties dwelt on the cooperation in a multilateral format and
appreciated the effective cooperation between the two countries within
international structures. The President highly assessed Australia's
balanced approaches on regional issues.
