RETIRED BANK EMPLOYEES AWARDED IN ARMENIA ON BANK EMPLOYEE DAY

YEREVAN, November 20. /ARKA/. The management of three Armenian banks
awarded 77 of their retired employees on the occasion of Bank Employee
Day and the 15th anniversary of the introduction of Armenian Dram,
chairwoman of the national bank employees trade union Laura Hakobyan
told journalists Thursday.
Apart from money award, the pensioners have received food assistance
with support of the most of Armenian banks.
Pensioners are the most socially insecure part of the society and
it is important to give attention to them, Hakobyan said adding that
the majority of awardees worked in the banking sector for more than
40 years.
Armenian Dram was officially introduced as the national currency of
Armenia on November 22 1993.
Today 22 commercial banks with a total of 367 branches operate
in Armenia.
Total staff of Armenian banks was 7,998 employees at the end of
September this year against 6,498 employees at the end of September
last year.
