YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. Armenia's national currently is getting
more and more reliable day by day even amid the global financial
crisis, says a congratulatory message addressed by Speaker of the RA
Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan on the occasion of the 15th anniversary
of the Armenian dram.
The Public Relations Department, RA Parliament, reports that in his
message Speaker Abramyan pointed out that Armenia's transition to
the dram created opportunities for the formation and development of
the country's financial and banking systems as well as of economy.
After Armenia regained its nationhood and established its state
attributes, the National Flag, Emblem and Anthem, the country's
transition to the Armenian dram proved to be one of the most decisive
and important steps toward its economic independence, says the message.
According to Abramyan, the Armenian dram is now a stable currency,
which has ensured numerous tests. "As an element of history of
independent Armenia, the Armenian dram has become an integral part
of our everyday life," he said.
Speaker Abramyan addressed a congratulatory message on the occasion
of Bank Employee Day. He wished all the bank employees effective work
for Armenia's prosperity.
On November 22, 1999, the Armenian dram became Armenia's national
currency.
