Arif Yunusov: "Azerbaijani and Armenian people always lived and will
    live together in Karabakh"

    29 November 2008 [13:45] - Today.Az

"Azerbaijan will never accept the fact that Karabakh may become an
independent state", said Azerbaijani political scientist Arif Yunusov
in his interview to Aravot newspaper.

Commenting on possible variant of ceding lands, adjacend to the
conflict area, to Azerbaijan in exchange for recognition of "NKR", the
political scientist noted that Azerbaijan treats such issues not
serious. He considers that democratization can lead to the peaceful
    resolution of the conflict,

"European states settled such issues in the result of
democratization. I hope the format of the Karabakh conflict resolution
    will be found", noted Yunusov.

According to the political scientist, the main issue of Nagorno
Karabakh is an issue of borders.

"We must make the issue of borders not play such an important
role. These are lands, which must be equally dear to Armenians and
Azerbaijanis. It is necessary to understand that monoethnic Karabakh -
either Armenian, or Azerbaijani- is a source of instability.

These people have already lived and will live together", concluded he.
