ARMENIAN PREMIER, WB VICE-PRESIDENT DISCUSS STRATEGIC ISSUES

YEREVAN, October 13. /ARKA/. At their meeting RA Prime Minister Tigran
Sargsyan and WB Vice-President Shigeo Katsu discussed a number of
strategic issues.
Diana Mnatsakanyan, Press Secretary of the RA Premier, reported that
the sides discussed the construction of a new nuclear power plant
and of a railway in the south direction in Armenia, the foundation
of a pan-Armenian bank, creation of strategic reserves, as well as
obstacles to Armenia's trade development.
The sides also addressed issues of air transport and pension reforms,
as well as the financial crisis in Russia and its possible consequences
for Armenia's economy.
The sides specially addressed the possibility of a line of credit
for Armenia's small and medium-sized businesses.
The RA Premier is on a working visit to Washington, USA, to take
part in an annual forum of the World Bank (WB) and the International
Monetary Fund (IMF).
The Armenian delegation includes Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan,
Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan, RA Presidential Economic Advisor
Vahram Nersisyants, Head of the RA Government Staff David Sargsyan,
Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Artur Javadyan, RA
Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakosyan, RA Ambassador to the USA
Tatul Margaryan and other officials.
