ARMENIAN PRESIDENT CONDUCTS WORKING MEETING WITH CHAIRMAN OF THE CENTRAL BANK

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS: Armenian President Serzh Sargsian
conducted today a working meeting with the chairman of the Central
Bank Arthur Javadian.
Presidential press service told Armenpress that during the meeting
the sides discussed issues connected with the global financial crisis
and preventive measures for confronting it.
A. Javadian presented to the president three variants of preventive
measures the Central Bank has developed. He assured that there
exists trust over the banking system in Armenia and it is quite
capitalized. In the running year the profitability of banks amounted
19.2 percent.
During September of the running year 203 million USD entered Armenia
as transfers. The chairman of the Central Bank assured that Armenia
has enough potential for confronting crises and preventing them.
Serzh Sargsyan tasked the chairman of the Central Bank to have under
the limelight the developments registered in the international markets,
their possible influence on Armenia's financial system and report
every week about every changes.
