VICTOR DALLAKIAN PROPOSES HIS FORMULA OF FORMING FACT-FINDING GROUP ON MARCH 1 EVENTS

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, NOYAN TAPAN. During the hour of statements on
October 21, independent deputy of the RA National Assembly Victor
Dallakian made a proposal: by a decision of the parliament, to set up a
12-member fact-finding group for providing expert advisory assistance
to the NA Ad Hoc Committee on Inquiry into the March 1-2 Events in
Yerevan and their Reasons.
The deputy proposed that 6 members of the fact-finding group
should be appointed by the "RPA", "Prosperous Armenia", "ARF" and
"Orinats Yerkir" factions that form the coalition, 3 members should be
appointed by "Heritage" opposition faction, and another 3 members of
the group - by the first Armenian president Levon Ter-Petrosian. The
coalition may appoint 2 of its 6 members, while the parliamentary
and extraparliamentary opposition - 1 of its 3 members (each) by the
recommendation of international organizations.
According to V. Dallakian, it should be stipulated in the decision that
efficient work of the group shall be ensured by the ad hoc commission
on March 1 events, while remuneration of the group members is done
by order established by the speaker of the National Assembly.
