STATE BUDGET 2009 WILL BE SOCIALLY TARGETED

The discussion of the draft State Budget for Fiscal Year 2009 started
at the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Fiancée-Credit
and Budgeting in presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic
of Armenia, Mr. Tigran Sargsyan, and President of the Parliament,
Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan.
"The 2009 budget will be socially targeted, since the 47.2% of the
financial allocations will be provided to the education, healthcare
and social security spheres. The largest portion will be allocated
to the field of education," RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said
at the National Assembly today.
The second priority direction is healthcare. The main emphasis will
be laid on free medical aid in ambulance clinics.
The third largest portion of financial allocation will e provided
to the filed of social security, where budget investments will reach
$250 million, experiencing a 16% growth against 2008.
In general, the Prime Minister said to be satisfied with the draft
budget.
"This budget will allow registering high paces of economic development,
raising the level of wellbeing and ensuring security against external
challenges," Tigran Sargsyan said.
