ARMENIAN AND TURKISH FILM DIRECTORS TO MAKE JOINT FILM ABOUT ARAX RIVER

ANKARA, OCTOBER 28, ARMENIANS TODAY - NOYAN TAPAN. Armenian and
Turkish film directors and script writers are going to make a joint
documentary about the Arax River, the Turkish press reported.
A group of Armenian and Turkish directors and script writers met
in Ankara on October 9-10 in order to discuss the details of the
preparatory work. The president of Armenian Marketing Association NGO
Aram Navasardian, film director Gevorg Nazarian and cameraman Vardan
Baghdasarian took part in the meeting on behalf of the Armenian side.
According to reports, the Turkish-Armenian Business Development Council
and Armenian Marketing Association NGO are the project's authors.
During a talk with NT, the NGO president Aram Navasardian said that
the documentary will be dedicated to the ecological problems of the
Arax River.
The Armenian-Turkish relations and the issue of peoples' friendship
will also be touched upon.
The Turkish press called the project "Arax diplomacy", noting that it
is the first step within the framework of the agreement on "cooperation
first of all in the sphere of culture" which was reached by the Foreign
Ministers of two countries, Ali Babacan and Edward Nalbandian, during
the visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Yerevan on September 6.
