VAHE STEPANYAN NOMINATED FOR MEMBER OF THE FACT-FINDING GROUP OF EXPERTS

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia has nominated Vahe Stepanyan,
the head of staff of the Ombudsman's Office, Doctor of Legal Science,
for member of the Fact-Finding Group of Experts, RA Ombudsman Armen
Harutyunyan declared at the National Assembly today. From 1990 to
1996 Vahe Stepanyan worked as Minister of Justice of the Republic
of Armenia.
Two other members of the Fact-Finding Group of Experts will be
nominated by the ruling coalition. One member will be nominated by
the "Heritage" faction, another one - by the political force ruled
by Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
The names of the other four candidates have not been announced so far.
According to the order of the President of the Republic of Armenia,
the candidates should be nominated within 10 days after the order
comes into force. It came into force on October 24.
