SESSION OF SECRETARIES OF SECURITY COUNCILS OF CSTO MEMBER COUNTRIES TAKES PLACE

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS: The session of the secretaries of
security councils of the CSTO member countries kicked off today in
Yerevan. Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Arthur Baghdasarian
greeted the participants, expressing hope that the work of the session
will be effective.
During the session the secretaries discussed tendencies of development
of military-political situation of the CSTO member countries,
2008-2009 programs directed towards increase of efficiency of the
further activity of the establishment.
The participants also discussed issues connected with the
implementation of the decisions adopted during the previous
sessions. The secretaries of the security councils also referred
to the situation in South Ossetia. They were informed of the steps
Russia is carrying out for the restoration of destroyed settlements
of South Ossetia.
Secretary of Kyrgyz Security Council Ismayil Isakov informed that
the first sessions of the council coordinating the works on fighting
against illegal migration in CSTO and council of emergency situations
will take place September 10-12 in Bishkek. During this session
Armenia assumed the chairmanship of CSTO.
