The newly appointed Ambassador of Finland to Armenia Petri Salo today
presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

Congratulating the diplomat on assuming office, the President said
Armenia views Finland as an exemplary partner, is interested in
further deepening of cooperation and intends to open an Embassy in
Helsinki next year. According to Serzh Sargsyan, being involved in the
regional processes still from 1990s, Finland has always demonstrated
    an unbiased and balanced position.

Underlining the high level of the political dialogue between the
two countries, the cooperation within international organizations,
the parties specially emphasized the activation of economic ties and
the full utilization of the existing potential.

The Armenian President and the Finnish Ambassador exchanged views
on the latest developments in the Caucasus, regional cooperation and
security issues. Noting that Armenia can act as a stabilizing factor in
the region, Ambassador Salo said his country welcomes the visit of the
Turkish leader to Armenia at the invitation of President Sargsyan and
greets the political will of the two countries to resolve the existing
issues and create an atmosphere of trust and peace in the region.

During the meeting reference was made to the Eastern policy of
the European Union. President Sargsyan said Armenia is resolute to
develop productive cooperation with European structures and deepen
the relations with EU member states.
