Yesterday by 62-for, 5-against, and 4-abstained votes the parliament
passed the bill on making amendments and supplementations in the law on
"Radio and TV".
In the evening the bill was passed by the second reading (71-for,
5-against, 1-abstained).
According to the law no competitions will be announced before July 20,
2010, for Radio and TV broadcasts. Those TV companies the licenses
of which expire on July 21, 2011 can submit a claim to the National
Assembly, about prolonging their term.
Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan said it would give a possibility
to pass on to the digitalized process of Radio and TV broadcasting,
which will start from 2010.
