YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, NOYAN TAPAN. The Board of the Social Democratic
Hnchakian Party sent an open letter to RA Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandian demanding refuting the information published lately in a
number of Turkish periodicals that on September 23, in the UN General
Assembly, the Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministers will state about
creating a group of historians studying the Armenian Genocide. It
was mentioned that if indeed there is such an initiative, they demand
"stepping back from such a treacherous and illegal step."
"Mr Nalbandian, we are sure that you understand what grave and
disastrous consequences this step can have for the Armenian people. The
Armenian who will ever cast a doubt on our greatest grief, Armenian
Genocide will be cursed and neglected by his ancestors," the letter
read.
