PM TIGRAN SARGSYAN RECEIVED THE AMBASSADOR OF THE NETHERLANDS

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipoteniary of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Armenia Otto
Elderenbos (seat in Tbilisi).
At the beginning of the meeting Ambassador Otto Elderenbos first
congratulated the Prime Minister and the whole Armenian nation on
the occasion of the 17th anniversary of independence of the Republic
of Armenia.
The Armenian Prime Minister and the Ambassador of Holland spoke
about the bilateral Armenian-Dutch relations and other issues of
bilateral interest.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of opening of the Dutch
Embassy in Armenia for the development of diplomatic relations.
Highly appreciating the official development assistance rendered to
our country so far, the Prime Minister said it is necessary to uphold
the assistance, noting hat it will be rather productive, especially
if allocated to encouraging the private sector.
Speaking about the cooperation within the framework of the European
Neighborhood Policy, Tigran Sargsyan noted that it opens new
perspectives for our country.
The interlocutors dwelt on the consequences of the financial crisis in
the world, its possible influence on Armenia's economy, the USD 700
million loss Armenia suffered a s result of the events in Georgia,
as well as the possible support of the Kingdom of Netherlands and
other interested countries in overcoming the difficulties connected
with import, export and transportation.
