YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, NOYAN TAPAN. "Cooperative Lancer/Longbow -
2008" Exercises within the framework of NATO Partnership for Peace
(PfP) program and Instanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) will start at
the Vazgen Sargsian Military Institute of the RA Ministry of Defence on
September 29. The exercises will last until October 20. The RA Minister
of Defence Seyran Ohanian and the Deputy Commander of the Allied
Land Component Command Heidelberg Lieutenant General Jack Gardner
will take part in the opening ceremony to be held on September 29.
According to the press service of the RA ministry of defence, about 900
servicemen from NATO, PfP and ICI will participate in the exercises.
Cooperative Lancer/Longbow annual exercises within the framework of
PfP are aimed at improving cooperation of the armed forces of NATO
and partner states through rapid crisis response operations.
