Armenia
Armenian and Azeri Foreign Ministers Edward Nalbandyan and Elmar
Mamedyarov yesterday met in New York. The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs
and OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andjey Kasporchik were also present at
their meeting.
After this discussion, American Co-Chair Matthew Bryza announced
to the journalists that the meeting had been very constructive. "We
discussed all the elements required for the further settlement of the
conflict. We find that it is very important for the two Presidents
to have a meeting in the near future.
Of course, we do not anticipate turning points at the moment because
this is the first time after the recent developments in Georgia that
there emerged an opportunity for exchanging viewpoints prior to the
elections of Azerbaijan. We do not anticipate any changes in the
format in connection with the elections to be held Azerbaijan. This
format contributes to the process; it works in a normal manner,
and the Ministers agree to it," the American diplomat said.
