ILLEGAL SEARCH IN THE CELL

The Armenian National Congress (HAK) statement issued a statement which
says, that PACE upcoming session will deal with the Armenian political
prisoners issue as well and in this connection the regime decided to
make more various its actions, namely it organizes provocations towards
the political prisoners by means of criminal elements. On March 27,
according to the HAK statement, such a provocation was realized towards
the political prisoners Petros Makeyan and Harutyun Urutyan. Besides,
on March 31, during the "walk" hours, taking advantage of the absence
of the prisoners, an illegal scarce was carried out in Petros Makeyan's
and Harutyun Urutyan's cell headed by the superior of the regime.
The regime adopted this policy of "complicating" the prisoners' life
before the PACE winter session as well, trying to force the prisoners
to write a petition under psychological repression.
The Armenian National Congress condemns such actions demanding the
Human Rights Defender and the office of prosecutor general to deal
with this case taking into account this statement.
