ArmInfo. Normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations should
happen without preconditions, and we are holding negotiations with the
Turkish party just with this conception, Foreign Minister of Armenia
Edward Nalbandyan said when responding to 'Interfax' question about
the frequent statements of the official representatives of Turkey
saying normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations is connected
with other issues, in particular, Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement
and international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
'Normalization of the relations is not connected with Karabakh conflict
settlement and this issue has never become a subject of discussion in
negotiations on normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relationship. I
want to emphasize that normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations
cannot call the fact of the Armenian Genocide into question. At
present, many countries and international organizations have recognized
the Armenian Genocide and Armenia welcomes this recognition. I think
the statements on advancement of preconditions in normalization of
the Armenian-Turkish relations may be considered as an attempt to
fail the progress reached in negotiations', E. Nalbandyan said.
