ArmInfo. Azerbaijani Union of Writers released statement on Turkey's
intention to open its border with Armenia. According to the statement,
taking such a step would cause profound concern and would negatively
impact the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
As the Azerbaijani media report, it is said in the statement that the
union is deeply concerned with even the least probability of opening
of the borders between Turkey and Armenia, the country retaining it
aggressive policy and ungrounded genocide claims and who has been
avoiding to withdraw its armed forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied
territories. "We believe that unilateral concession towards Armenia who
have always been boasting of shedding bloods of tens of thousand of
Turks will mean disrespect against the historic traditions and moral
values of Turkic people. At the same time, taking this particular
step will also negatively impact the bilateral relations and public
contacts which are based on the "One nation-two states" principle. We
believe that the opening of the borders between Turkey and Armenia
might cause serious harm on historic and brotherly relations between
Turkey and Azerbaijan." the statement says.
