OBSEC WORKING GROUP MEETING IN YEREVAN

ArmInfo. Regular meeting of OBSEC working group on banking and
financial issues started in Yerevan today. A two-day meeting is held
within the frames of Armenia's chairmanship in OBSEC in 2008-2009
and it is one of the events approved by the country's government.
As deputy Chairman of Armenia's Central Bank Vache Gabrielyan said,
the issues of the state of the banking and financial spheres in
OBSEC member-states, possible ways of overcoming of the financial
crisis, anti-crisis measures taken by the member-states, as well as
the policy conducted in the sphere of regulation and oversight will
be discussed during the meeting. "We can find something applicable
for our country from the experience of every country", V. Gabrielyan
said. He emphasized that an economic slump is expected in all OBSEC
member-states, however, Armenia is in a more advantageous situation as
the country's financial system has no essential problems. According
to him, the results of this meeting will be presented at XX meeting
of OBSEC member-states' foreign ministers meeting to be held on April
16 in Yerevan.
Representatives of Armenia, Russia, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova,
Georgia and Ukraine of twelve OBSEC member-states take part in the
working group meeting.
