HOVIK ABRAHAMYAN: "THE PARLIAMENTARIANS' CONTACTS CAN GIVE NEW IMPETUS TO THE RELATIONSHIP OF ARMENIA AND CUBA"

On April 10, 2009 the Speaker of the National Assembly Mr
Hovik Abrahamyan received the newly appointed Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Cuba to Armenia Mr. Juan Valdes Figueroa
(residence in Moscow).
Mr. Abrahamyan congratulated the Ambassador Mr. Valdes Figueroa on
the occasion of beginning his mission in Armenia. The Speaker of
the Armenian Parliament proposed to boost the parliamentary contacts
of the two countries, due to which it would be possible to give new
impetus to bilateral relations.
The interlocutors agreed that there is a big potential of developing
the bilateral cooperation. They especially emphasized the spheres
of health care and tourism, discussed the perspectives of economic
cooperation.
During the talk at the Ambassador's request Mr. Abrahamyan also
touched upon the issues of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish
relations, settlement of the Artsakh problem, as well as the South
Caucasus region.
