IRAN, ARMENIA TO DOUBLE ELECTRICITY EXCHANGE

At a meeting with his Armenian counterpart, Iranian Energy Minister
Parviz Fattah said that electricity exchange between Iran and
Armenia will increase to 700 MW from 300 MW. Announcing that energy
exchange between Iran and Armenia stands at a satisfactory level,
Fattah said that currently Iran exports electricity from Armenia in
summers and exports power to the Central Asian country in autumns and
winters. Fattah also said that Iran`s Sunir Company will establish
Iran-Armenia gas pipeline. "Iran will receive electricity from
Armenia for its gas export to the Central Asian country," Fattah
added. Armenia`s Energy and Natural Resources Minister has arrived
in Tehran to discuss bilateral cooperation in power sector. 2009/04/13
