Russian, Armenian special forces conduct anti-terrorist exercise

    YEREVAN April 17

The special task forces of the Russian Interior Ministry and the
Armenian police conducted an anti- terrorist training exercise in
Yerevan on Friday, which was aimed at honing their skills of detaining
    armed criminals holding hostages.

Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev and Armenian police chief
Alik Sargsyan were present at the training.

Over 300 special task troops and 13 equipment units, including a
military helicopter and an armored police vehicle Tigr, participated
    in the training.

"Joint staff training remains a very important aspect of the
construction of a new security architecture," said Nurgaliyev.

Nurgaliyev emphasized that it is not the first joint anti-terrorist
training exercise on CIS territory, adding that such exercises will be
    conducted regularly in the future.
