Pakradounian: Lahoud's withdrawal will affect electoral battle and
voters in Metn
April 18, 2009
MP Hagop Pakradounian said the March 14 alliance had an internal
dispute over the upcoming parliamentary elections, adding that
Minister of State Nassib Lahoud's withdrawal of his candidacy will
affect voter participation and the general atmosphere in Metn.
Pakradounian said in an interview with Free Lebanon radio station on
Saturday that he expects six candidates on Free Patriotic Movement
leader MP Michel Aoun's electoral list to win in Metn, while MP Michel
Murr will win the seventh seat.
Pakradounian said it is unlikely that the dispute between Hezbollah
and Egypt will affect the Christian voters in the opposition, noting
that the issue was unrelated to the elections.
